Frances Sun

Frances Sun is currently a Senior Vice President at Hill & Knowlton China. She joined H&K in 2003 and is responsible for crisis and issues management, with a specific expertise in media and government relations. An expert in crisis management, Frances is also the co-author of the book "Crisis Management: World Famous Examples of Crisis Situations."

Frances was the global KCRM for the Beijing Olympics, led a global team and provided PR services for the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).

Frances was responsible for China’s State Council Information Office (SCIO) which appointed H&K to conduct training for Chinese government spokespersons at a central and local level. She has also been invited by the Chinese Mayors Association to conduct a series of trainings for mayors across China.

Before joining H&K, Frances was a fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Prior to that, she was a Deputy General Manager of a media group's advertising company. Before becoming a business manager, she was a successful host of a TV executive talk show, Fortune Salon, and Senior Editor of a major PRC media group for 10 years.

Frances has a BA in Journalism from Fudan University in Shanghai and an MA in MPA from Harvard University. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
