Director

Basic Function

Responsible for the overall development, maintenance and growth of both the clients and H&K staff. Provides overall strategy and direction for all client engagements. Analyzes and solves problems, develops strategic programs, ensures value-added products/services, oversees the development and execution of high-quality deliverables and continually relates the agency's work back to the clients' business objectives. Utilizes the industry network to identify and secure new business wins. Responsible for employee satisfaction and retention. Works with human and finance resources to position the office for success. Delivers and maintains annual team fees.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of agency experience or equivalent
  • Specialized industry knowledge and senior level industry and media contacts.
  • Proven experience managing a team at the highest level from a financial, client delivery and staffing perspective
  • Proven ability to:
    -identify and secure new business
    -provide strategic, crisis communication counsel
    -expand current client business
    -develop and implement strategic communications programs
  • Solid presentation skills, including ability to communicate and sell ideas to prospective and current clients
  • Ability to accurately project client revenues on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Ability to manage, retain, and grow clients at the highest level

Account Director

Basic Function

Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the team with an emphasis on retaining and expanding current client business. Oversees all client budgets (creating, expanding, forecasting, etc) and ensures that revenue and account profitability for each client are reached on a monthly basis. Supervises subordinates (from ACs to SCs) and assists Practice Leaders on new business efforts. Has an established specialty or practice niche and strong, senior contacts in the media.

Qualifications

  • 7-8 years of agency experience or equivalent
  • Specialized industry knowledge and skills in one or more key practice areas within H&K
  • Proven experience managing a team from a financial, client delivery and staffing perspective
  • Proven ability to:
    -write new business proposals
    -manage, retain and grow multiple accounts
    -create and manage multiple budgets
    -expand client business
    -develop strategic communication programs
  • Solid presentation skills, including ability to communicate and sell ideas to prospective clients.
  • Proven leadership skills and sales ability
  • Established network of senior industry and media contacts

Senior Consultant

Basic Function

Serves clients as the day-to-day relationship manager and is responsible for developing plans for multiple accounts and ensuring their execution. Independently manages multiple staff members (from ACs to Consultants). Analyzes and solves issues for clients and staff. Manages client’s budgets and takes a more active role in responding to RFPs and doing new business presentations.

Qualifications

  • 5-6 years of agency experience or equivalent
  • Well-developed specialized industry knowledge with unique communication skills in one or more of the key practice areas within H&K
  • Proven experience in managing a team from a financial, client delivery and staffing perspective
  • Proven ability to:
    -write new business proposals
    -edit documents
    -present to clients
    -expand client business
    -develop and implement strategic communication programs
  • Ability to maintain contacts with suppliers/vendors, media and consultants
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to independently handle client contact

Consultant

Basic Function

Serves as the day-to-day manager in executing strategic communication plans on multiple accounts. Independently supervises SAEs, AEs, ACs and Interns. Delegates multiple assignments, supervises others and works with other departments, groups and offices. Thinks strategically and creatively. Works effectively with both senior and junior staff and possesses maturity, keen judgment, enthusiasm and strong people skills. Has an established industry niche.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of agency or equivalent experience
  • Special knowledge of the unique communication needs in one or more specialties
  • Proven ability to:
    -write and edit documents
    -present to clients
    -implement communication programs
    -manage budgets
  • Strong understanding of what motivates the media
  • Emerging leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage all work for self and subordinates

Senior Account Executive

Basic Function

1. Executes public relations programs with increased client interaction.
2. Begins to manage accounts on a day-to-day basis.
3. Manages workflow on accounts for AEs, ACs and Interns.
4. Begins to establish a specialty or practice area.

Qualifications

1. 3-4 years agency experience or equivalent.
2. Excellent writing and communications skills (Bilingual).
3. Experience in handling automotive client work or corporate social responsibility-related work is preferred.
4. Strong team player and ability to cooperate with team to ensure success of client work.
5. Good sense of managing clients’ projects and events.
6. Understands principles of public relations and relevant client industries.
7. Possesses maturity and judgmental skills necessary for client contact.
8. Ability to manage clients’ budgets and deadlines.
9. Thorough knowledge of media and how it functions.
10. Basic supervisory experience – managing programs and AEs and interns.
11. Project management, event organization, developing news agency & media strategy.

Account Executive

Basic Function

  • Executes public relations activities including projects and events for clients with an increasing role in direct client involvement.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of in agency experience or equivalent
  • Ability to write basic documents (i.e. pitch letters, press releases, etc.)
  • Familiar with basic principles of public relations and relevant client industries
  • Possesses judgment skills necessary for client contact
  • Understands the media and how it functions

Account Coordinator

Basic Function 

  • Supports account team(s) by implementing and executing client programs as directed.

Qualifications

  • Communications experience preferred
  • Ability to translate basic documents (English to Chinese and Chinese to English)
  • University graduate with a good command of English
  • Basic understanding of the media and how it functions
  • Ability to develop press materials (i.e. invitations and press releases)
